Desert Rocks Film Festival/Hesperia Oct. 20

Simone Graham – Editor: Hesperia: Twenty-one films have been accepted into the Desert Rocks Film And Music Event, screening October 20, 2018. Films Categories include Feature Film, Narrative, Documentary, Animated, Student, and Music Video. Find the list of all films at: http://desertrocksfame.org/events/films/.

Examples of films screening include:

Mind Over Matter, a feature film about a young man with Cerebral Palsy who battles through a paralyzed left hand, bullies, and stereotypes about the disabled to defy the odds and make it as a rock and roll guitarist.
We Were Americans, which is the story of Glenn Yamada, who was born in a Japanese internment camp in 1942.
Lambeth Lights, a tribute to Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights, shot in the streets where he grew up.
Neptune, a Student Film about a medical officer aboard a research facility on Neptune’s moon battling her suicidal crew as a strange being infects them with the allure of death.
Cowboy’s Heart, filmed in Brazil, is a feature film about a country music superstar who shuns the spotlight in order to return to his small town roots and discover things in life really worth singing about.

“We have an excellent selection of films screening. There is so much talent out there; we only wish we could screen them all. But we have selected the cream of the crop and think attendees will be very pleased. This year’s entries originate from the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Russia,” explains Phyllis Overall, Founder & Executive Director.

Tickets purchased in advance will be at the will call table in the theater lobby. Theater seating is first come, first served. It is highly suggested that you arrive early for film showings in order to obtain a seat. Once seats are filled, no more entries are allowed. Sitting in the aisles is prohibited.

The Desert Rocks Film & Music Festival will be held at Hesperia Civic Plaza Park and the Civic Plaza 12 Cinema West Theater in Hesperia on Saturday, October 20, 2018.
