Get Deal or Freebie for Nat’l Coffee Day

Simone Graham – Editor: Love coffee? Then National Coffee Day, Saturday, September 29th is your day. Here is a list of retailers in our area who are participating in this occasion. Some are day-only deals, others extend over three days or even the entire month. Check the list for online deals, too.

Krispy Kreme
Java lovers can grab a free Krispy Kreme coffee, any size, on National Coffee Day at participating locations, no purchase necessary. To sweeten the deal, Krispy Kreme Rewards members receive the extra perk of a free doughnut with their coffee on
that day! Krispy Kreme kicked off its weeklong celebration of all things coffee on Monday. This week, a coffee glaze has replaced the chain’s regular doughnut glaze. While the coffee-glazed doughnuts are a limited-time promotion, Krispy Kreme is also introducing a new permanent menu item: a glazed doughnut-flavored coffee. On Sept. 29, you can get a cup of the new coffee — or any other coffee — for free at participating Krispy Kreme locations.

Corner Bakery Cafe
Corner Bakery Cafe is in the Victoria Gardens Mall. To celebrate National Coffee Day, all Corner Bakery Cafe locations nationwide are offering a free any size hand-roasted coffee or cold brew (where available) with any purchase on both Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29.

Mcdonald’s
In a promotion that’s not limited to Coffee Day, participating McDonald’s locations are selling any size McCafé brewed coffee for $1 or a small McCafé espresso drink for $2. The deal is part of the chain’s “$1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu” and is available all day. The chain has yet to announce an end date for this promotion. Target, Kroger and Dollar General are also offering discounted bottled McCafé Frappé beverages in stores across the country. $1 any size coffee or buy a medium or large McCafé® (excluding Hot Brewed and Iced Coffee) and get 1 for $0.01 – offers valid until Sept. 30, only using the app. Participating locations will also offer a small caramel macchiato, cappuccino, and/or Americano for $2 each.

Peet’s Coffee
If you live near a Peet’s Coffee, head on in on Sept. 29 for 25 percent off 1 pound of beans and get a free drip coffee (or tea) at participating stores. If you don’t live near a Peet’s, you can cash in online: Use the promo code COFFEEDAY18 to get 25 percent off all regular, non-subscription, 1-pound bag purchases made at Peets.com (there is a limit of one per person). Get 25% off on one pound of beans and a FREE drip coffee or tea at one pound bean purchase at participating Peet’s coffeebars, as well as 25% off all regular, non-subscription, bean purchases made at www.peets.com using promo code “COFFEEDAY18.” Limit one per person. For every pound of beans sold in Peet’s coffeebars on National Coffee Day, the craft coffee company will donate $1.00 USD to its Farmer’s Assistance charity, TechnoServe, a non-profit organization that raises incomes and quality of life for coffee farmers.
Between Sept. 17 and Sept. 29, Peet’s invites consumers to enter for a chance to win a Keurig machine and a year’s worth of coffee (30 boxes of 10 count K-Cups), a value of $340. Visit peets.com/kcup-giveaway to learn more. Winner will be selected on Oct. 1, 2018.
And, on Sept. 29 at Amazon.com, fans can further enjoy a Lightning Deal of 20% on select Peet’s Coffee bags, K-cups, and espresso capsules.

Barnes & Noble Cafés Customers can get a free cup of tall, freshly-brewed hot or iced coffee on Sept. 29th.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Guests will be granted a free 16-oz. brewed coffee, (hot or iced) with the purchase of a food or bakery item at all participating locations on Sept. 29th.

Whole Foods
For those who prefer to brew their own coffee at home, Whole Foods is having a three-day buy-one get-one sale on all Allegro 12-ounce packaged coffee from Sept. 28 to Sept. 30. (The BOGO deal excludes Allegro Coffee Roaster items, but those will be $1 off during the promotion). Allegro Coffee will donate $1 for every drip coffee sold at Whole Foods Market stores to Whole Planet Foundation, which supports global entrepreneurship through small business loans. Whole Foods shoppers will also get $1 off a 16-oz. Allegro Pumpkin Spice Latte when they download the Whole Foods Market app and scan their personalized bar code at the register.

Dunkin’
The big news out of Dunkin’ this week is that Dunkin’ has decided to drop Donuts from its brand name. On Saturday, September 29, anyone who purchases a hot coffee at participating Dunkin’ locations nationwide will get one hot coffee free—as long as the free coffee is of equal or lesser value.

Starbucks
Looking to score free coffee at one of the country’s largest chains? Starbucks is not participating in National Coffee Day on Saturday, but they are not being stingy. “This National Coffee Day, we’re focused on providing continued assistance to help Puerto Rico recover following the devastation of Hurricane Maria one year ago, where the coffee industry was decimated”. Starbucks is donating 2 million coffee seeds to help rebuild. The Starbucks Foundation and EFI Foundation (our licensee partner in Puerto Rico) are also giving a three-year, $583,000 grant to World Coffee Research to improve seed quality and growing practices on the island.”

Baskin Robbins
One small Cappuccino Blast (a frozen coffee beverage made with 100% Arabica coffee, milk and ice cream, blended together and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon) for $2.99, throughout September and October. The Cappuccino Blast is fully customizable with any ice cream flavor, including seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Cheesecake, featuring pumpkin and cheesecake-flavored ice creams with ginger snap cookie pieces and a cinnamon cream cheese-flavored swirl.

Cracker Barrell
Use the discount code COFFEE20 for 20% off Cracker Barrel’s famous coffee when purchasing online, including regular, pumpkin pie, and single-serve cups. The discount will only be active on National Coffee Day. In-Store:
For a limited-time only in celebration of National Coffee Day, they are offering a special a Pumpkin Pie Latte in stores. This crafted coffee comes with sweet, seasonal pumpkin pie flavors, topped with whipped cream, cinnamon, and spices. It is available iced or hot.

7- Eleven
Stores will offer free coffee with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich ($2 and up) at participating stores nationwide.
